On February 6, 2014, Iyanya announced to the world that he had notched a mouth watering N150million endorse deal with a tech company, Lenovo which is just one out of a few other deals which he has won in recent times. But investigation has since revealed that the pop singers claim may be a deliberate, fabricated lie.

To buttress his claim, the MTN Ambassador went on Instagram flaunting a Lenovo product, Yoga Tablet with the caption, ‘’ New product!!! New ambassador!!!, Lenovo ambassador!!! Task Direct 2014 started #triplemg’’. The manager Ubi Franklin reportedly confirmed the deal when contacted on phone in these words ‘Yes, it’s true. It cost between N150 and N170 million and the duration is 24 months,’ He said.

While the artiste was inundated with congratulatory messages, a fresh report made the rounds as to the fact that such claim may not have taken place after all as the company in question; Lenovo bluntly denied knowledge of any such deal. The question then is, what is the motive for the monumental fraud, a deliberate stunt to increase profile for packaging sake? We are still awaiting a statement from Iyanya’s camp to clarify issues.
